CLAY CITY, KY – This past weekend two competitions breached the gap between the outdoor and indoor season. Archers first competed indoors at 40-50-60 yards at the First Dakota Classic, then head outdoors to face the elements at the NFAA Outdoor Target Nationals at the same distances. With the challenges that archers could face during this full weekend of archery, GAS shooters walked away with multiple championship titles and successes!
The biggest success for GAS Bowstrings was the sweep in the men’s pro division at the First Dakota Classic! First and second place came down to an incredibly tight shoot-off between Stephan Hansen and Kyle Douglas where Stephan was just a smidge closer to the X, taking the gold medal. In addition to this success, Tate Morgan placed third for a full GAS Bowstrings podium!
Another huge success for the weekend was from Paige Pearce who took first place booth at the First Dakota Classic and at the NFAA Outdoor Target Nationals. Incredibly, she shot better outdoors and in the elements for Target Nationals compared to her score indoors for the Dakota Classic!
James Lutz also saw success at the NFAA Outdoor Target Nationals as he was able to walk away with first place. Kyle Douglas followed up his second place at the Dakota Classic with a second place at Target Nationals! Last, but certainly not least, Lynn Hoch took second place in the senior men’s pro division!
