CLAY CITY, KY– The GAS Bowstrings pro staff shooters shot insanely well at the 2023 Lancaster Archery Classic! Out of those who made it forward to eliminations, 31 GAS pro staff had qualified!
Brady Ellison came into the Shoot-Ups as the top seed and shot against Jack Williams in his gold medal match. By the end of their match, their scores were all tied up and Brady needed the 12 to win. He hit the light to go for it and caught the 12-ring for the gold! Both Brady and Jack shot well in the Shoot-Ups where they placed first and second respectfully. Brady was also testing out some prototype GAS Recurve Bowstrings at the Classic that we are especially excited about!
Paige Pearce had a good showing at this event as well! For the past three years, she has qualified first, but never secured the Women’s Open Pro Championship title until this past weekend!
Tanja Gellenthien had an exciting weekend as well as she qualified second at the Classic and held that position through the Shoot-Ups. She had a tight match against her opponent in the bronze medal match and was able to move on to gold when her opponent went for the 12 and missed. This second-place finish will be Tanja’s 6th straight podium in a row for the indoor season!
Jacob Slusarz made his way up through the ranks as well in the Open Pro division! Jacob came into the Shoot-Ups as the 5th seed and from there he worked his way up to a 3rd place finish! Rob Morgan also secured himself a 3rd place finish in the Men’s Senior Open Pro division! He came into the Shoot-Ups as the 3rd seed and secured his spot for a bronze medal!
Finally, we would like to give two special shoutouts! The first goes to Grady Kane who shot in the Youth Male Open division! Grady came into the Shoot-Off matches as the 2nd seed and shot his way up to first with a pair of 129 scores! Our second shoutout goes to Isaac Sullivan who qualified first in the Men’s Open division! He just fell short of his opponent in the gold medal match by one point, 130-131, to put him at silver in the competition!
Congratulations to everyone who qualified well made it on to eliminations, made it on the stage, and a special congratulations to those that made the podium! It is amazing to see so many shooters perform consistently and successfully with GAS Bowstrings! We were happy with the turnout at this event and are excited about The Vegas Shoot this weekend!
