CLAY CITY, KY – The ASA Classic in Cullman, Al was the final competition to round out the ASA tournaments for the year. If there was ever a time to leave a lasting mark on the year in 3D, this past weekend was that moment! Our GAS Shooters took this last chance and made the most out of it as there were several Shooter of the Year Awards and podium finishes tallied.
The archer who made the most of her weekend was Sharon Wallace. Sharon came in with a determination to win the Shooter of the Year award and take first in her division at the Classic. She was able to do both of those by earning 1stplace in Women’s Pro and by leading her class by an incredible 31 points overall for the year! This is Sharon’s third ASA win for the year.
There were two other GAS Shooters who took first in Shooter of the Year and those archers would be Kyle Douglas and Paige Pearce. Both archers dominated their classes this past ASA season! Kyle had two wins this past year where both of his finishes were 50+ scores! Paige proved that you would have to be at the top of your game in Women’s K-50 as she won four out of the six total ASA competitions during the year!
In addition to the top Shooters of the Year, Chris Hacker was named Shooter of the Year Runner-up, and Jack Wallace came in third place for SOY in the open pro division. In addition to the excitement, Brayden Jones not only competed in his first pro shootdown at the Classic, but he earned this year’s Rookie of the Year in open pro!
This ASA season has been incredibly eventful and exciting for GAS Bowstrings as we love being able to see our shooters succeeding at their competitions! Overall, our professional shooters have tallied 27 podium finishes at the ASAs this year! Congratulations!
