CLAY CITY, KY– With the end of the ASA Classic in Cullman, Al, the ASA season also has come to a close for 2023. GAS Shooters were able to finish out both the competition and the season strong with several podium finishes and shootdown appearances!
The women’s known pro division was a huge success for GAS Bowstrings Shooters. Paige sought to make her presence known in the new division and she absolutely dominated. She won every single ASA this season for a grand total of six ASA Championship titles! With her abundant success, it was only fitting for Paige to end the year winning the Women’s Known Pro Shooter of the Year. In fact, she won SOY by an incredible 110 points!
Tanja Gellenthien found great success at the Classic as well! She made a strong run for first place as she qualified just four points away from first then shot two 14s in the Pressure Point Shootdown to just come just shy of the gold medal; ending with a strong second-place finish! In addition to her podium finish, Tanja was awarded third place in the Women’s Known Pro Shooter of the Year running! In total for the year, Tanja has taken four podium finishes for the season!
Continuing with the weekend’s successes, Madison Cox was awarded this year’s Women’s Known Pro Rookie of the Year! For the year in total, Madison garnered two second-place finishes at the start of the year, which helped drive her position up in the Rookie of the Year race!
In the men’s known pro division, Kyle Douglas had success at the Classic as he went into the shootdown leading with a +54 score! Kyle was able to hold his lead through the Pressure Point Shootdown where he won Men’s Known Pro Champion for the Classic. In addition to his first-place finish, Kyle captured the Men’s Known Pro Shooter of the Year title! For the year in total, Kyle has earned three first-place finishes and a third-place finish which boosted him to the top of the race for SOY.
Rounding out the weekend’s successes, Erin McGladdery finished out her weekend with third place in Women’s Pro Shooter of the Year! In 2023, Erin took a second-place finish at the Camp Minden ASA and secured her first-ever ASA win in the women’s pro division at Metropolis.
